What is usually used in Germany to show a musician and a farmer? What do the colours mean?

Would by no means recommend a farmer's symbols. They tend to be utmost commonplace, above all ploughshares and wheat ears and so.

Music instruments - though by no means uncommon - are more promising by far. Obviously one should focus on medieval ones.

To tell the truth - nowhere.

According to German heraldic "philosophy", symbols are expected to be meaningful for the original armiger only, when assuming the new coat of arms.
